Now...A broad area of light to moderate rain with a few embedded thunderstorms continues to move southward over southeast Mississippi and extreme western sections of southwest Alabama at 10 to 15 mph. This area of rain and thunderstorms will be affecting most areas in southeast Mississippi and portions of Washington and mobile counties in Alabama during the next 1 to 3 hours. Occasional cloud to ground lightning and brief heavy downpours will be the main threat with some of the embedded thunderstorms through 8 pm. Other development to east over southwest Alabama and the western Florida panhandle will be possible also through late this evening. Stay tuned to NOAA weather radio or local media outlets if threatening weather is approaching yours area.
