Now...Showers are beginning to increase this evening across san luis obispo and santa barbara counties. Although these hit and miss showers have hourly rainfall rates of less than a tenth of an inch per hour...Rainfall rates should increase over the next few hours as some instability aloft moves into the area with a threat of a few pop up thunderstorms. If thunderstorms do develop...Expect brief heavy downpours...Occasional lightning...And small hail. Gusty west to northwest winds will continue across much of the region over the next few hours then diminish.
