At 900 pm moderate to heavy lake effect snow bands were across parts of cayuga...Chenango...Cortland...Northeastern tompkins... Northern seneca...Onondaga...Madison and otsego counties. The bands will drift into northern tioga and broome counties by 10 pm. Snowfall rates in the bands May reach one inch an hour, especially in the finger lakes region. Snowfall intensity and visibilities in lake effect snow can vary greatly...And have significant impact on travel. Roads will become hazardous and slippery. Slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination.
