...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST
* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow squalls will continue into early
tonight. Plan on very difficult travel conditions, including
during the morning and evening commute. Due to the high snowfall
rates and blowing and drifting snow, snow plows may not be able
to keep up with keep the roads clear. Sections of some local
roads may be impassable at times due to the extreme drifting
with the heavy snow squalls. Additional snow accumulations of 7
to 10 inches, with localized amounts up to 16 inches.
* WHERE...Mason, Oceana, Muskegon, Ottawa, Allegan and Van Buren
* WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Wednesday.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds gusting as high as 35 mph will cause
areas of near zero visibility in blowing and drifting snow.
A Winter Storm Warning for heavy lake effect snow means
significant amounts of lake effect snow are forecast that will
make travel very hazardous or impossible. If you must travel,
keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case
of an emergency.
