locally heavy rain and cloud to ground lightning.

Southern McDowell County in western North Carolina...
Northwestern Rutherford County in western North Carolina...
Southeastern Buncombe County in western North Carolina...
* Until 615 PM EDT.
* At 411 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.
One to two inches of rain have fallen since 300 PM EDT.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Chimney Rock State Park, Sugar Hill, Thermal City, Glenwood, Fero,
Dysartsville, Bat Cave and Shingle Hollow.
Additional rainfall of one to two inches is expected over the area.
This is expected to result in minor flooding.
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
