This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...east
central...south central and southeast Colorado.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight
Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are expected today and this
evening, with the best chances being from the I-25 corridor
counties and westward. Lightning will be the main storm threat.
However, some of the stronger storms will be capable of producing
locally heavy rain and hail up to the size of nickels. Locally
heavy rain could bring the risk of flash flooding, particularly
over burn scars and urban areas.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday
Areas of heavy rainfall will be possible over southern Colorado
Tuesday through Saturday. Precipitation chances and the heavy
rain potential will increase and expand, to encompass most of the
eastern slopes and plains.
As the potential for heavy rain returns to southern Colorado, so
will the potential for flooding. This will be particularly true
across burn scars and urban areas where the ground is most
impervious. However, flooding will be possible anywhere that heavy
rain falls for too long.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Weather conditions that meet reporting criteria for spotters will be
possible this afternoon and evening, mainly from the I-25 corridor
counties and westward.
