This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of north and central
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight
Strong west and northwest winds will gust up to 50 mph this afternoon
until almost sunset from around Las Vegas and Clines Corners
southeastward to around Tucumcari, Clovis and Portales.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday
An upper level low pressure system will pass eastward over the
Colorado and New Mexico border Monday and Monday night with multiple
weather hazards. The storm system will draw the dryline into the far
eastern plains with a risk of severe thunderstorms there Sunday night
into Monday. Southwest winds may reach 50 mph across southern and
eastern parts of the forecast area Monday, except near 60 mph along
and just east of the south central mountains. A few inches of snow
accumulation are expected in the northern mountains above 8500 feet
Tuesday and Wednesday, the potential exists for southwest wind gusts
to 50 mph along and east of the central mountain chain.
Thursday night, dryline thunderstorms may again turn severe east of a
line from Roswell to Tucumcari.

Spotter activation may be required due to severe thunderstorms in
counties along New Mexico`s eastern border Sunday night and
especially Monday, then again Thursday night east of a line from
Roswell to Tucumcari.
