Beaches with particularly dangerous conditions include... Blue Harbor Beach in Sheboygan... North Beach in Port Washington... South Beach in Port Washington... Harrington State Park Beaches... PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Structural currents form along piers where longshore currents and wave action flow into the structure. Structural currents can sweep you out into deeper water along the pier structure. A Longshore current is a lake current that moves parallel to shore. Longshore currents can be strong enough to prevent swimmers from being able to keep their feet on the bottom, making it difficult to return to shore. Rip currents are powerful channels of water flowing quickly away from shore, which occur most often at low spots or breaks in sandbars. Rip currents can sweep you into deeper water. &&

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of east central Wisconsin, south central Wisconsin and southeast Wisconsin. .DAY ONE...Tonight Major flooding will continue in portions of western Dane county where 10 inches or more of rain occurred in some parts last night into early this morning. There is a high swim risk for dangerous currents on the beaches of Lake Michigan. A Beach Hazards Statement is in effect. Some area rivers will be on the rise due to the heavy rainfall. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Tuesday The high swim risk and Beach Hazards Statement will continue into Wednesday morning. There are chances of thunderstorms at times from Friday through Monday. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation will not be needed, but rainfall and flooding reports are appreciated.
