Mellen, WI Weather Warnings Issue Date: 330 PM CDT Sat May 18 2019 Expiration: 1030 GMT 19 2019 This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin. .DAY ONE...This afternoon and Tonight A few thunderstorms are possible into this evening from Siren to Park Falls and points south. Small hail, brief gusty winds, and occasional cloud- to- ground lightning are possible with the storms. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday Rain may mix with or change to snow early Sunday morning. Strong northeast winds combined with the snow may reduce the visibility to below a mile at times. Snow accumulation up to two inches is possible Sunday morning inside of a line from Lake Mille Lacs to the Twin Ports to Solon Springs to Hinckley. The accumulation is expected mainly on grassy surfaces. Additional rainfall tonight into Sunday evening will range from 1 to around 2 inches over much of northwest Wisconsin. Minor flooding will be possible. Large waves are possible on Lake Superior and the adjacent shoreline and may cause localized lakeshore flooding on Sunday. Multiple wet systems may pose flooding concerns by the middle of the week. Thunderstorms may affect the Northland Wednesday afternoon and Thursday night. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotters are requested to report precipitation type, and measurements of snow and rain accumulations to the National Weather Service. Spotters and the public can also report precipitation type with the free M-PING smartphone app. Skywarn spotter activation is not anticipated this afternoon or tonight.
